Well this is what I used in a recent translation... ie. as I took it to mean the length of time they've been in the profession.

agree  Phillippa May Bennett: I like this too :-) I was referring to the period post graduation - which is perfectly correct! Not "post-graduate" :-) http://www.sgul.ac.uk/students/undergraduate/medicine/mbbs5/... OK confusion over :-)
