neutral  CarolinaGU: Correct me if I'm wrong, but "opinólogo" seems to carry a negative connotation, doesn't it? Whereas pundit does not. I'm not sure, what do you think?

agree  patinba: I think pundit can also be mildly negative

neutral  patricia scott: Sorry, but I also agree with Carolina. Pundit does not have negative connotation.

neutral  Daniela Lara: Maybe you can add something else before pundit, like celebrity, because for what I understand pundits talk about important facts, politics, economy...
23 mins

agree  Christine Walsh: I don't think the word needs to be clearly negative, because the context will make it so. Or, following Daniela's suggestion: instant/amateur/household pundits

critic

Explanation:
I think critic can also work here and may have a slightly more negative connotation than pundit. However, as mentioned the use of quotation marks implies irony or sarcasm, so in this case you can still use "pundit" or even "expert".

http://weblogs.clarin.com/revistaenie-elmisteriodelaspalabra...

Opinólogo, ga. Sustantivo m. y f. Despectivo.
