Comme je vous l'ai dit pour "no obligation to proceed", j'ai contacté une amie avocate qui m'a donné les informations suivantes:
soit il s'agit d'un acte officiel (c’est-à-dire : acte sous seing privé, les parties reconnaissent qu’en cas de litige lié à l’exécution dudit acte, celui-ci pourra être porté devant les tribunaux, c’est le contraire de confidentiel)
soit d'un acte authentique (l’acte a été rédigé par un officier assermenté : huissier, notaire, …).
Je vais donc adopter votre proposition et je vous remercie.

La fonction du sceau est en premier lieu d’authentifier les actes. Sans son sceau, le document perd toute sa valeur diplomatique : fixé au document, il tient lieu de signature (le signataire qui appose son sceau est appelé sigillant). Le sceau ne doit pas être considéré isolément mais dans l’ensemble qu’il forme avec le document et son mode d’attache. Il est donc plus approprié de parler de « document scellé ».
