Il me semble qu'on oppose ici la communication verbale à la communication non verbale. Mais le contexte ne me semble pas approprié pour utiliser cette terminologie.

A partir de là, on peut utiliser un peu ce qu'on veut dans la mesure où "signs and memos" n'a qu'une valeur d'exemple. Quant à moi, j'utiliserais le couple "dessins et aides-mémoires".
