Bezüglich ihres Raumbedarfs ist in ASERI eine Person durch ihre Schulter- und Brustbreite sowie durch ihre momentane Orientierung charakterisiert. Die Schulter- und Brustbreite bilden die Achsen der Ebenenprojektion der Körperform. Die räumliche Orientierung dieser Projektion ergibt sich aus dem Vektor, der augenblicklichen Bewegungsrichtung. Die Position einer jeden Person ist also für jeden Zeitpunkt durch die Angabe des Mittelpunktes der Körperprojektion in horizontalen kar-tesischen Koordinaten x und y innerhalb einer bestimmten Ebene (Etage bzw. Treppenverbindung) festgelegt.
