German term or phrase: überfängt / überfangender Bereich
" ... das Anschlusselement überfängt die Platine im Bereich der Kontaktfelder und die die Platine überfangenden Bereiche des Anschlusselementes ..."

All this in connection with LEDs. The only indication I have so far is "flashings" but that seems to make it even more difficult to fit into something comprehensible.
Expert input will be appreciated.

overlaps/overlapped
Explanation:
The common meaning appears to be 'overlay' in the glass industry, but that doesn't fit here. 'Overlap' would seem to fit your context. Maybe its a 'Switzerdeutsch' expression.

Within Germany the language is also 'bent' frequently, sometimes in connection with dialects

I asked for a drawing based on which I can in fact accept your proposal. Many thanks.
