Начиная с 2001 года в мире действует АЛЬТЕРНАТИВНАЯ СИСТЕМА АВТОРСКОГО ПРАВА, разработанная видным американским юристом Лоренсом Лессигом. Главная ее задача — облегчить доступ к сетевому контенту, который все более зажимается законодательными тисками. Ныне лицензии СС распространяются и на обычные носители.
