traite(nt) singular or plural? traitent Explanation: D'abord, de grâce, évitez cet horrible resp. qui n'est pas aussi courant en français qu'en allemand et qui n'a surtout pas exactement le même sens que beziehungsweise. Vous pouvez utiliser "soit soit", "tantôt tantôt", ou tout simplement "ou". Cela étant dit, Grevisse dit : La tradition grammaticale considère que le singulier s'impose si le verbe ne peut avoir qu'un seul agent logique : Pierre ou Paul sera colonel de ce régiment (il y a un colonel par régiment) ; — tandis que le pluriel conviendrait si les êtres ou choses représentés par le sujet peuvent, tantôt l'un, tantôt l'autre, faire Faction. Mais l'usage garde à l'égard de cette règle une large indépendance. Ici je pense que l'on est dans le deuxième cas. |
