neutral  Michael GREEN: Not sure about this, Graham : a "pilotine" is a pilot cutter, and the prow is not usually ram-like ... I think Jochen is nearer the mark// Nice one ! "Bulbous bow" seems to fit the bill nicely, Graham // If the beans are spilled it will not be by me !

agree  Michael GREEN: That is indeed what Graham has suggested - same link - it seems to fit the bill here - it certainly has to do with performance : pilot boats aren't expected to ram anything ;o) though I know of one Proz member who claims to have rammed a pilot boat ...
