...so many tests? I would imagine that if it were a simple switch it would not be listed as a major piece of equipment and request all the tests listed above. Also this appears to be a single piece of equipment, which again suggests that it is either for everything or for the generator... I think...

...can be such a PITA. I think breaker is generally a subset of switches that specifically cuts off power when there is an overcurrent or short circuit. Everything else that cuts off power should be called a switch, whether it's operated by the user (on/off or main switch) or tripped by some condition (overheating, for example).

Yes, what worries me though is that this is obviously a major piece of equipment as it is one of the areas specified for the folllowing tests:
• Resistencia de aislamiento
• Factor de potencia
• Resistencia de contacto
• Sincronismo y tiempos de operación al cierre y apertura
• Prueba de la Humedad residual del SF6
• Cierre y apertura en modo local y remoto
• Pruebas de alarmas y bloqueos (eléctrico y mecánico)
• Pruebas del Esquema de antibombeo
I would have thought that if it was for a specific machine they would specify...

Some machines have an independent breaker in case of overheating. This does not necessarily trip the generators.
