Wie ist denn hier der eingesternte Teil zu verstehen? Geht das vielleicht in Richtung "gelegentliche/sporadische Geschäftsbeziehung"? (Ja, ich weiß, diese Suggestivfragen wieder ;-)) Die Bedeutung der einzelnen Begriffe ist mir klar. Mir geht es hier um die kontextabhängige Bedeutung.

Explanation:
d. h. nicht mehr im Rahmen einer vertraglichen Verpflichtung, sondern "fallweise", "von Fall zu Fall".
Mit dem üblichen "auf Tagesbasis" (im Gegensatz zu "wöchentlich" oder "stündlich") hat das m. E. hier nichts zu tun.
