No meio montanhista, é muito comum o uso do termo "desescalar" quando se refere à descida e "escalar" quando se trata de subida.

Sei que já fechou a pergunta, mas só para informar... Há, para descida de montanhas (não sei se se usa para subida), o termo "rappel". Aqui no Brasil o pessoal diz muito "fazer rappel".
