staff meeting Explanation: Teachers working in secondary schools are grouped according to the classes they teach (age or level) or section/branch of the school. The choice of grouping is different in every school; there are many different ways to do this. Then, usually once a week, they discuss with their team leader or manager all kinds of dayly matters, problems, organisation of special events, action plans, etc, etc, etc. It is a very simple and straightforward term, and I guess there is nothing wrong with saying staff meeting. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2008-10-15 06:14:17 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sometimes a distinction is made between a unit (of all English teachers, for example) and the wider team, that includes teachers of other subjects in the same department or level. But nowadays government intervention wiped out most of the old organisation along subject lines. In the werkoverleg usullay teachers of all subjects participate. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 8 hrs (2008-10-15 13:43:46 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- in jouw geval kan dat ook prima het geval zijn, want werkoverleg is een breed begrip, en kan ook overleg met leraren op andere scholen insluiten, wanneer het over een onderwerp gaat dat op verschillende scholen van toepassing is. Maar doorgaans gaat werkoverleg toch echt over de dagelijkse organisatie en planning van onderwijsactiviteiten, het maken van keuzes over materialen en methoden, op de school. |
