Italian term or phrase: piani di lavoro e piani superiori
Another doubt from my furniture catalogue where, talking about a reception desk, I have to translate the phrase: **piani di lavoro e piani superiori** realizzati in agglomerato ligneo". Once again, no photograph, but the client describes the difference as follows: "In genere le reception hanno un piano più basso (simile alla semplice scrivania) ed un piano più alto, tipo una mensola dove in genere i clienti che sono in piedi si appoggiano per scrivere ecc". Any ideas how I could make that distinction in English? "Bottom top" and "top top" doesn't sound quite right somehow! Thanks, Sarah.

All interesting ideas, but I'm choosing this one for coherence with the rest of the text where "piano di lavoro" is translated as "worktop". Thanks to you all, Sarah.
