Italian term or phrase: diving
No, I didn't get the language combination wrong. This is an English word used in Italian and, thus, I need to know how to translate it into English.

The client's explanation is pretty straightforward: she intends the place where the divers meet before and after a dive; apparently tanks, wetsuits, regulators, and other equipment is stored there, both during the dive and as extras in case of emergency.

I'd think of "dive boat," but I have no idea how this is commonly translated in English. Not my sport. Thanks.

dive centre / dive location
Explanation:
Hi Wendell, maybe I should take that picture down.
I always dive at a "dive centre" which does all your "diving" says and also rents the equipment provides the boat etc. I don't know of places where you can just store equipment, but which don't provide staff and services, maybe just dive location

"dive site" is what you want Wendell. They are often at inland waterways.

It was what wouldn't come to me.

BTW a dive shop is just that a shop (all you do there is buy things), while a dive centre is where you go if you want to actually dive.

But there again the "dive site" is (mabe also) very definitely the place where you actually dive, where the coral reef is or where the wreck is out at sea. It is the places you go to in a boat.

I never take my own word for things in this business. A dive "center" in US scuba terms is a place to go diving from, although you might take it for a store. Check out the link (PADI is basically a US organisation, now worldwide).

Thanks, Jim. I'll take your word for it on "dive center/re", which doesn't mean anything to me in AE other than a store.

diving centre

...and if it was simply that?

Asker: I don't think so. What you intend by diving center is what we'd call a dive shop. Not the same thing at all.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Dive site or dive location might work; I'll think it over. This isn't the place where you rent your equipment, though - it's where all the divers meet up before going into the water and later rendezvous before heading back in.
