Atenţie, a nu se confunda graficul statistic de creştere cu graficul individual de creştere a copilului!!
Graficul statistic compară valorile indicilor specifici de creştere ai subiectului (un copil anume) cu cei ai unei populaţii aflate în screening. In felul acesta, pediatrul poate aprecia dacă respectivul copil se încadrează sau nu în parametrii normali de creştere.
In mod evident, textul de tradus se referă la acest tip de evaluare statistică a parametrilor de creştere ai unui nou-născut

Cred că mai corect ar fi graficul/tabelul/diagrama de creştere în percentile.

Curbele de crestere si tabelele de crestere sunt utilizate in primul rand in pediatrie pentru a evalua daca indicii antropometrici urmariti (greutate, inaltime, indice de masa corporala etc.) pentru un anumit copiil/adolescent se incadreaza sau nu in normalul statistico-epidemiologic.
....exista din aprilie 2006 pe site-ul Organizatiei Mondiale a Sanatatii grafice care pot fi imprimate, la sectiunea Childgrowth Standards – Standards, de unde cautarea se poate continua in functie de informatia dorita, sub forma de tabel sau grafic, percentila sau scor Z etc.
Numarul intalnit reprezinta percentila corespunzatoare sexului si varstei, care spune unde se situeaza copilul in raport cu celilati copii din generatia sa.
