mostly Explanation: まぁ、ツムラミチコさんが言ったとおりで、 「Angelにお金賭けてんか？」 「いやいや、今日はかけてない」 みたいなかんじですけど、AngelsじゃなくてAngelていいましたんですけど、どんなスポーツなどは判断できないんですね。いる人のあだ名かもしれませんしね。 一応、Money Downていう言い方の由来は・・ お金を払うときは、お金を店員さんの目前のテーブルの上に置きます。 何かをテーブルの上に置くと、 Put down on the table か put on the table をいいます。 ですから、手付金を払うことも「Put a deposit down」か「Put money down」というんでしょう？ そして、「No, I'm not betting」といえば、意味は多分「今日は賭けてない」か「今日は賭けない」です。 だって、もしAngelじゃなくてほかのものに賭けたんなら、「いや、あれに賭けてる」とか、「いや、次の競争に賭けた」とか、こうやって答えるのは普通でしょう？ なのに、「I'm not betting」とそのまま答えたので、台詞全章を翻訳すると 「Angelに賭けてんのか」 「いや、今日は賭けてない」 みたいなのになるでしょう。 |
