unprecedented strength Explanation: 应该也是空前的意思。 |

massive buildup of strength Explanation: I think this line should be different than the others, since it uses 壁前 instead of 空前. If 'unprecedented' is used for 空前 in the other lines, then i'd use something different here. 力量壁前 literally is 'strength before a wall', but it feels to me like the poet means strength 'building up' before a wall, like a wave rising to smash against a cliff. |

unrivalled vigor/strength Explanation: Some parts of the original text are sheer gibberish. Typical florabl language...the notorious exaggerative style of modern Chinese...every Chinese translator's headache...and nightmare! Alternatives for unprecedented: unequaled, unparalleled etc. or in a freer style: exceptional, ... or: simply left untranslated -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 days (2008-09-17 16:02:13 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- 壁前 must be a typo... |
