awesome Explanation: 「おそるべし」は対象となる人(例えばYamadaさん)が本当に怖い訳ではなく、その人に対してどこか畏敬の念を持って称えるニュアンスがあると思います。 プログレッシブ和英中辞典にこんな文例があります。用法として近いのではないでしょうか。 ・ 彼こそ真に恐るべき天才だ He is truly an awesome genius. |
