concordat wedding Explanation: il matrimonio concordatario – prima in comune e poi in chiesa, , celebrato davanti al Ministro del culto cattolico ma regolarmente iscritto nei registri dello stato civile. The Catholic wedding ceremony includes also the Civil ceremony. It is called the Concordat wedding because it is based on the agreement between the Vatican and the Italian state. The procedures taken for the Civil ceremony are also necessary for the Catholic ceremony. There are also other requirements: - A certificate stating the participation of the bride to be and groom in a marriage course provided by the church. This course is available at your local church or in another diocese of your choice.Usually the course does not take more than two months. - A certificate of Baptism for wedding use that is not dated more than six months previously. The document is issued by the church where the Baptism took place. If you are unable to optain a recent Baptism certificate, you can go to your priest with another person(who must be a Christian)who will confirm your Baptism. |
