Due cariche di presidenti in un'associazione. Per President Elect ho sempre pensato a Presidente Designato, per President Select sono indecisa. Ecco la sua definizione: "The President Select is selected by the Board of Directors and his designation is approved by the Board of Representatives. The President-Select undertakes to succeed the President after having been a Member of the Board or Directors during at least four years". Qualche suggerimento?

La dizione presidente in pectore è comunemente utilizzata per designare il candidato eletto che non abbia ancora ufficialmente assunto l'incarico.

Meno calzante a mio avviso la dizione president eletto che fa sì riferimento alla procedura elettiva, ma che pretermette il fatto che ancora non v'è assunzione di poteri.
Per President selected opterei per presidente designato: manca, mi sembra una procedura di elezione aperta a tutti gli associati, sostituita da una designazione da parte del 'direttorio'. L'interpretazione mi pare avallata qui:

Grazie mille per la precisione e le spiegazioni. Alla fine ho scelto a variante con "Presidente Eletto" perché ho trovato vari riscontri nello statuto di associazioni simili a quella per cui sto lavorando.

Explanation:
Alla luce della spiegazione che ha dato Intermanu, il President Elect mi sembra un Vicepresidente, pronto a fare le veci del Presidente nel caso questi non dovesse portare a termine il mandato (tipo Blair - Brown nel governo inglese).
Il President Select - sempre secondo l'interpretazione che ne dò io - è scelto e nominato dal Board of Directors e rimane nel Board almeno quattro anni prima di poter accedere alla carica di Presidente. Non può essere "presidente in pectore", perchè questa dicitura si usa per chi è già stato eletto nel periodo di limbo prima dell'investitura ufficiale (es. tra le elezioni politiche e la nomina a Presidente del Consiglio da parte di Napolitano).

Asker: Rossella, ti ringrazio per il tuo contributo, ma Vice Presidente non andava bene perché nello statuto sono vice presidenti sia il President Elect sia il President Select! Grazie comunque.
