Duty Ratio Explanation: Hi:) I do not know the context this phrase is found in but as far as I know "duty ratio" is an engineering and electronics term. So I would suggest the following: "This/The duty ratio is set at more than 0.5 compared to the routine/usual duty ratio" -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2008-06-29 22:40:30 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Well, then it could be "This duty ratio is more than 0.5 and only the routine duty ratio is set on a grand scale". But let us not ignore the assumption that "dake" could be used here also through its second function, i.e. to express the degree the adverb after it is manifested to (for instance "Kore dake ookii"- So big). In our case this could be "as big as the 所定のデューティ比 and I therefore decided to use "compared" and "left out the meaning of the term "dake". And one more thing: In my opinion the core of this sentence is そのデューティ比が0.5よりも設定されている. Just an assumption at my part:) Good luck!:) |

Instead of setting that duty ratio at 0.5, set only the fixed duty ratio to high. Explanation: I'm not really clear if there are 2 ratios, or just one. But from what I got from the sentence, there are two ratios to be set, and the instruction is to set the fixed duty ratio to high is better than setting the other ratio to 0.5. |
