Jumboisation des « géants des mers »


COMMUNIQUE DE PRESSE



Au moment de la commande par CMA CGM de navires de 8200 evp, début 2004, cette taille était considérée comme étant celle des plus grands navires construits.

Aujourd’hui, en raison de la croissance du marché, le Groupe CMA CGM a décidé de transformer ces navires en utilisant la technique de la Jumboisation.

Cette technique consiste à ajouter pendant la construction une cale supplémentaire, portant ainsi la longueur du navire de 334 mètres à 350 mètres.

Ces navires voient leur capacité passer de 8200 evp à 9163 evp.

Ils seront livrés par les chantiers Hyundai entre 2006 – 2007.
