I'd be really grateful for you help on this one. It's from the annual report of a bank

l margine di interesse evidenzia una crescita principalmente per i maggiori volumi di impiego creditizio nel comparto dei mutui retail

Thanks

lending
Explanation:
I'd definitely say lending, not borrowing - a bank generally lends out to borrowers.
However, I am not 100% sure this is the right, formal term for it. Let's wait to see what others have to say.

disagree  James (Jim) Davis: Net interest income would increase because the bank increased its volumes of lending (impiego creditizio" and it would fall if it increased its borrowing.

agree  James (Jim) Davis: impiego is lending and raccolta is funding. impiego=use creditizia=lending. In this context has to be lending or loans

(due mainly to higher volumes of retail) credit utilization

Explanation:
credit is "extended" by a "bank" but in order to generate revenue it must be "utilized". Obviously we are talking here of "retail credit" to consumers.
The context given by the whole sentence makes it quite clear in my opinion.
