Il protagonista è di fronte a un grosso portone di legno muito di porticina più piccola per il passaggio delle persone, quel tipo di porticine spesso talmente piccole che bisogna abbassarsi (ok, io sono 1 e 86 :-p) e soprattutto alzare bene i piedi per non inciampare perché sotto c'è, appunto, il "lid" (la porta non si apre al livello del marciapiede ma è come incastonata nel portone grande). Sì insomma, mi sono spiegato maluccio ma spero sia chiaro il discorso :-) Come lo chiamereste? Grazie in anticipo e buona giornata!

Si chiama così la parte inferiore nel riquadro degli antichi portoni in legno di cui parli. Questa zoccolatura ti obbliga ad alzare i piedi per attraversare la porta stessa.
Lo so perchè l'ingegnere che mi ha ristrutturato una vecchia casa con questo tipo di portone l'ha chiamata così.
