English term or phrase: Retail Marketing & Management

The client has come up with this phrase in English (from French) simply to capture basic meaning: "Retail Marketing & Management". He wants something with a punchy, marketing flair for a US audience. He has indicated that he would be happy to see "shop" or "store" incorporated somehow, along with a verb to signify development or energy.

I'm more of a technical person than a marketing person, and after pondering this one for a while, I'm short of ideas. My weak attempts so far are:

"Growth in Store"
"Making your shop come out on top"

The first is cheesy, and the second is wordy. I'm hoping that someone (more creative than I) can help think of a perfect phrase.

Explanation:
I think you might ask yourself if this is really a task for a translator or an advertising copywriter. I've just emerged from a painful series of exchanges with a property developer who criticised my translation from Portuguese as too literal and not punchy enough. What he was asking was what advertising creatives are paid many times my fee to do - to excite people about a product and make them want it. In my experience, advertising doesn't translate effectively for all sorts of cultural reasons, and perhaps we should just stay away from it.

claudia bagnardi: You've made a point. I always argue with one of my clients, because his marketing manager wants me to do HIS job, by providing him with catchy phrases for ads. You are so right, lexical...yet...Jennifer may charge an extra amount on account of creativity

Ken Cox: of course this is beside the point of the main question, but it's highly pertinent. Many clients do not understand or appreciate the difference between translation and copywriting, and a bit of client education would be in order here.

Explanation:
Though I am a techie, I kind of like marketing...

I have heard this 'power marketing' concept a few times and I think it would appeal to an American audience. It implies energy and proactivity.

I also thought of something line 'Raise your bottom line' or 'Power strategies for developing your brand (or market presence, segment)'

Finally, something like: 'Top strategies for retail improvement'

Explanation:
No matter how clever or creative you may be, this isn't your job. IMO you should explain to the client that what you do as a translator is to convey the meaning of the original text in a different language, not create new meaning.
It would also be a good idea to explain to the client that creating slogans and 'catchy' titles requires a good knowlege (which usually means first-hand knowledge) of the target audience, its vocabulary and expectations, which you may not have and which (aside from good language skills) is one of the things that sets good copywriters apart.
You could also point out that how his presentation is received by the target audience is critical to his chances of obtaining business from them. It's up to him to estimate how large the potential business is and how much investment in marketing is justifiable, but in any case doing the job as cheaply as possible is likely to yield corresponding results.
