agree  Jack Dunwell: It's a Hardstanding! Why didn't they say so!!Bourth of dubious extraction it's "Port à sec", not "Grand large" Dunkirk has a dry dock.!Nothing to do with 20th Century Matelot, I used to put my Halcyon on a hardstanding for re antifouling.

Actually, I think Graham is probably right, and the "Grand Large" is a pleasure-boat facility. Moreover, the French for "dry port" appears to be ..... "dry port"!

neutral  Tony M: the 'Grand Large' certainly seems to be more about leisure facilities than a comemrcial port; I have also recently come across 'port sec' for a commercial dry port.
