English to Spanish translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Ships, Sailing, Maritime
English term or phrase: springs
It's a nautical term but I don't know exactly what is referering to. Context: sailing ships of late XVIII, early XIX

Examples:
"All ships had springs rigged on their anchor cables so they could shift their fire right or left as needed"
"We might have time to put out the kedge and bower, and get springs on the cables"
"[...] four British ships that had swung on their springs to direct their gunfire into her together."

Any ideas?

Notes to answerer

Saludos,

JuanMi
