2.2 Side guides adjustment

flap to the bottom side and trailing.
Adjust the envelope hopper side guides B by turning the
thumbwheel C, to provide just enough space for the
envelopes to move freely. Too much play causes skewing.
When one hopper (A or B) is selected in the job, the
”TEST RUN” screen shows only the selected hopper.

Secondo me l'unico senso è che il lembo deve restare aperto e deve rimanere 'in coda' o in posizione 'posteriore' rispetto alla busta.

E' solo un'ipotesi:
"posizionare le buste nel macchinario con il lembo rivolto verso l'alto e in uscita".

Per bottom flap ti rimando al primo link. per quanto riguarda il termine trailing l'ho trovato spesso unito ai termini edge ed end come vedrai nel secondo link e ho pensato possa riferirsi all'adattamento, all'interno del machinario in questione, alle dimensioni delle buste. A questo punto ho trovato la traduzione nel terzo link.
