Hello,

any idea? The recipe itself is a piece of fish (white) and some roes (black) onto it. I imagine this is why it is called "black and white", because of the colors. How could I translate this into English?

Explanation:
"blanc à manger" gets a few hits as the name of a top-end egg dish that also seems to work with a contrast with black ingredients, and maybe it's all a wink to the blancmange?

In any case, just another suggestion - trying to convey that the bream is white with something black on top.

Explanation:
Just a suggestion. The French original sounds funny to me, but then I'm not French - so perhaps it is a witty title for a recipe. If so, then what's needed is something catchy that is reasonably descriptive of the dish.
