English term or phrase: teachable point of view
Hello!
"I have developed a teachable point of view for subjects I care about"
According to my research on the web, a teachable point of view is not a point of view which can be taught but a teaching approach/attitude. Why do you call it "teachable" and not teaching? Teachable means "which can be taught"!!!
Thx

Selected answer:Not all points of view can be taught
Explanation:
Coaching sport is the most common form of having a teachable point of view.

Every one has a different way of playing the same game and the coach has to teach the players how he wants them to play the game his way when they, the players have a different mind set of how the game is played. So the coach has to develop a teachable point of view, to get his way of playing across to the players.

"Cultivating idea stake holders" is a good term to look up on Google. This deals with the whole process of finding outcomes for teachable points of views.

I looked at the article and I thought it was ok. I thought Kirendall also had some good information, and this is the foundation of a teachable point of view, That all points of view can be taught if you provide the right steps to take in the learning process of what it is you want to teach.
Example: I taught a no-English speaker to pass his English Exam in 3 months with a 5 in all 4 disciplines by only learning for 3 days a week. I wanted to show other teachers, my point of view about teaching was teachable.

a point of view which/that the (teacher) believes (s)he can defend before a class of students

Explanation:
Assuming, for a moment, that this text is related to a real translation job (in which case, an extract from the ST would be welcome), one possible interpretation would be:

"a point of view which/that (your choice, depending on your level of 'snobismo'....) the (teacher, or whoever...) believes (that) (s)he can defend before a class of students (without getting booed off the podium)"

pedagogy or pedagogical method/strategy

Explanation:
To me, the explanation presented in the blog (copied below) is what every teacher calls developing a pedagogical strategy/method/whatever... If you want to get fancy, you can say "andragogy," but you will probably lose your general audience. (Andragogy is the process of engaging adult learners in the structure of the learning experience.)

What is a teachable point of view?

In short it’s ***the practice of internalizing knowledge and breaking it down to its basic structure so that it can be presented (and taught) to others as concepts.***
