hidden/secret/romantic Explanation: I have seen this applied to a "hall", a "chemin" (in a bird sactuary http://voyages.ankryan.net/voir-carnet.php?id=49,) and a forest. Does this perhaps imply that a degree of poetic description is being used? A hidden, secret or romantic path? Reference: http://voyages.ankryan.net/voir-carnet.php?id=49 |

stepping stone(s) Explanation: This immediately came to mind, since I've seen this with pictures in some of the landscape stuff I've done. I've also double checked my Architecture & Construction Dictionary (Forbes) and "pas japonais" is "stepping stones". I think that answers your question. |
