soaking pit Explanation: This term certainly for steel reheating prior to rolling. Annealing probably better for other metals. Without context difficult to be certain. |

annealing furnace Explanation: As far as I know in England the term for an industrial oven is "furnace". If not in England, one can use "annealing oven", too. |
