Talking about the Roma V Lyons soccer game in March last year at the European Cup games.. Roma won for the first time qualifying for quarter-finals. The Arabic sentence says:

أما روما فحمل على عاتقه صنع المجد في أول مرة ينجح فيها في تخطي عقبة ثمن النهائي
What is the stage prior to quarter-finals when you have 8 teams in a group and four go up, while the other four go home?

hemi-semi-demi final

Explanation:
I borrowed this suggested translation from the musical measure of a quaver: hemi-semi-demi quaver which only one eighth of a quaver.

first knockout round

Explanation:
Hi in the competetion you are talking about (the European Champions League) the match you refer to was in the' First Knockout round', basically they have a group stage before this which comprises of 8 groups the top 2 in each group going into the 'First Knockout Round'. this is also sometimes referred to as 'the last 16' due to there being 16 teams
The 16 teams play in 8 matches the winners progress to the quarter finals then obviously semi finals and final.

The round is officialy titled the 'First knockout round' however you would probably get away with 'last sixteen' if you chose to.

for completeness roma won 2-0 but were knocked out by Manxhester United in the quarter finals

this first knockout round is the name for the relevant stage in this competition only
in others it would be 'last 16' or the relevant number of the round ie round 5 or 6
we don't use round of 16 or eighth finals in English very often
