An Eguiptian pyramid is usually a polyhedron with a square base and 4 more triangular sides - 5 all together.

Not sure whether this object has only 4 sides - all of them triangles - a base (though it may not be pointed down) and three additional sides.

-> a pyramid seems to, by definition, have a point at the top and a flat base - at least according to Merriam-Webster. That is also the image it brings to my mind - though we do hear expressions such as "inverted pyramid".

Explanation:
A big 3D triangle...that's what the text says, whether it is a pyramid, tetrahedron or poor syntax, that's what it says.
