Is there an English term for this or do we just use the French?

open buffet
Explanation:
"Buffet" alone is correct, but this is another option.

I definitely wouldn't put "free buffet", because it does indeed sound as if you don't have to pay for it.

Often times, I call contributed modules the "open buffet" of Drupal. As opposed to a la carte. In an open buffet, you pay a fixed price, and eat all you can. In an a la carte restaurant, you order each item and pay for them separately.

(All-you-can-eat) buffet

Explanation:
This is what I would say. Just saying buffet is usually clear, but the all you can eat part added makes it clearer. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffet

If you go to the 20th century paragraph in the wiki page I gave it mentions "all you can eat". I would say this to be absolutely clear, but it does have an American fast-food twang to it. Still, as I said it's 100% clear. In a fancy restaurant, saying simply buffet is preferable and more concise though ;)
