I always just do whatever kind of work there is for me to do. Explanation: In this case, I translated the "哪样工作" as "whatever kind of work," and I translated the meaning of the" 看到", rendering it as "there is," because it seems the writer is writing about the work they have to do and how they would prioritize it. So they basically choose to do whatever work they see around them that needs to be done. HTH -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2007-09-10 20:11:28 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Actually, I would change it to: "I always just do whatever kind of work there is to do." |

I always [work to] get the job done as soon as I see it. Explanation: Here, although "xian" comes in the second part, the idea is that this person works to complete the job as soon as he/she sees one (in other words, they don't delay finishing their work). The sentence is a little awkward, but the meaning is "yi kandao...jiu xian...". A literal translation does not work as well since one cannot complete a job as soon as they see it, which is why I enclosed "work to" with [ ]. |
