English term or phrase: advised reading
I'm proofreading a paper titled "Microbiological Quality of Bottled Water in Venezuela and Resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa Isolates to Biocides"

"Acknowledgements

The authors would like to thank for the support of the Deanship of Research and Development of the Universidad Simón Bolívar to the xxx project from which this research work resulted. They also thank xxxx for his help in the statistical analysis and Dr. xxx for the **advised reading** of the manuscript."

I guess the authors wanted to thank the technical comments this expert made while reading the paper. How could I word this so that it makes sense and sounds natural in English?
