"A un lado, puede observarse la ladera del cerro, la precordillera, y la vista se pierde en kilómetros de mágica estepa"

On one side is the sloping flank of the mountain, the foothills, and the view gets lost miles of magical plain.

GETS LOST is weak I think, as it is "is"the sloping flank...
No matter how hard I've tried, I didn't manage to make this sentece sound ok...
