Alliteration is my favorite literary device and this reflects the overall vulgar tone of the book. Thanks.

neutral  Alanguelaise: I like the use of the word "crotch", but to me "crotch hugging" conjures up pictures of really tight jeans, rather than low-cut ones. I'd be more inclined to go for "crotch-skimming jeans" or something like that.

bare-it-all low-cut jeans could be another option.

low-slung all-revealing jeans

Explanation:
ras la foune is pretty crude stuff meaning barely covering one's privates or even bikini-line

it is NOT like the skirts that were ras les fesses... this is the top of the jeans that hangs so low you can see the pubic hair

agree  ormiston: would the texte warrant something equally vulgar ? I just hope the end of the sentence won't sound as potentially rude as in French !!!!

agree  Emma Paulay: and with Ormiston on both accounts. It's definitely bikini line.//Who mentioned skirts CMJ? We're all agreed here!

agree  Julie Barber: Or 'la foufoune'......;-) yours is the polite version, but I can't really think of another in English......

pube jeans

Explanation:
I'm not much of a poet, so I went practical and looked it up on urban dictionary. Altogether, pube jeans is simple, shocking and to the point.
It is definitely too licentious, but then again so is the source sentence.

neutral  Julie Barber: this would be ok in the UK, but not in the US as the word means something different -as you pointed out with the bum bag / fanny bag business....

-> Thanks Emma. Do the people who can wear this type of accoutrement (not me after 2 babies) call it a pussy? Could femme use that? I'm just too naturally genteel (out of touch) to know any other words;-)// perhaps too voluminous// by Georege, she's got it!
