Can't find it anywhere. Do you think it is an invented word? If so, how might you translate it?

Explanation:
Looks like it might be a reference to Marie Trintignant's death a few years back after being beaten by her boyfriend, the lead singer of Noir Desir (see para 3 in the wikipedia entry, for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Trintignant). In other words, music that bodes poorly... Not sure how to translate it though! Maybe you can find something similar for your target audience...?

Bourth (X): Tho' I can't think of any T. music, I'd more readily associate the ref. than him than with her. In assoc. with music and her name, it's primarily Cantat's (they guy who killed her) who comes to mind.

Explanation:
My immediate thought was the music of the film"Un homme et une femme" (hence shabadabada) where Trintignant is the male lead and you can see from the title what the film's about, so I'd go for something nostalgically lovey-dovey (fits context) rather than tragic. All I need now is an equivalent, and that's just not in my brain at this timez in the morning.

I have no 'peer comment' slots so I have to agree like this.
Looking at the text, this fits in really well with the rest. Don't see how the murder of Marie Trintignant would go with bubbly champagne. The film is a French classic and the shabadabada music is immediately associated with it. (Rough) storyline of Un Homme et une Femme:
Plot Summary

* Genres: Drama, Romance
* Plot Synopsis: A man and a woman meet by accident on a Sunday evening at their childrens' boarding school. Slowly they reveal themselves to each other, finding that each is a widow/widower. Each is slow to reveal anything personal so that each revelation is hidden by a misperception. They become friends, then close friends, and then she reveals that she can't have a lover because, for her, her husband's memory is still too strong. Much of the film is told wordlessly in action, or through hearing one of their thoughts as they go about their day.
