boxthorn Explanation: Both Al-Mawrid and Hans Wehr give "boxthorn" as the standard English equivalent. al-Mawrid also gives "matrimony vine" as a popular term, while Hans Wehr gives "Lycium europaeum" and "Lycium arabicum" as the botanical standard terms (possibly two sub-species).
