Russian term or phrase:

I don't think that 'spurt' or something would fit the context. 'Gush', probably?
But the problem is that it should be put 'современным языком', as stated in the beginning of the sentetce, which makes me believe I need a special term of some kind.
Any ideas?

Whether this is strictly the correct technical term, I'm not sure, but this was my first thought on seeing your question: something on the lines of torrent, torrential flow.

powerful stream [of water]

Explanation:
A set phrase I've seen. But you might have to include "of water" in order to avoid the second meaning of stream, which is река.
