Hello, colleagues,
I would appreciate very much your help to understand the concept of “adjudicative proceeding”, and to find a suitable Spanish translation; I have found some references that have confused me.

This term is used in the explanation of the legal grounds for the power of a United States Court to provide judicial assistance to a foreign country:

“Requests for international assistance may come from a foreign court, prosecutor or other interested person.
Such assistance, may be granted if an **adjudicative proceeding** is pending or, in the absence of a pending proceeding, when such a proceeding is imminent, i.e., very likely to occur within a brief interval from the request.”

I copy below some of the explanations that I have found, each of which suggests to me a different Spanish translation:

adjudicative proceeding:
The primary purpose of any adjudicative proceeding where a person is accused of a crime is to find the truth as to that person's factual guilt or innocence. The search for the truth in the terrorism arena will be enhanced by the military commission framework.

Experience of friendly settlement procedures in other forums, such as the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, demonstrates the need to have strict limitations upon the time taken to implement friendly settlement, and for the importance of close monitoring by the supervisory body. Crucially, the supervisory body, ex officio or upon request from one of the parties, must be empowered to end the friendly settlement and continue the adjudicatory process in the case of undue delay or incomplete implementation of the friendly settlement.

The civil adjudicative process is primarily designed for the settlement of disputes between parties, while the criminal process is designed for the protection of society as a whole. Threatening to use, or using, the criminal process to coerce adjustment of private civil claims or controversies is a subversion of that process; further, the person against whom the criminal process is so misused may be deterred from asserting his legal rights and thus the usefulness of the civil process in settling private disputes is impaired. As in all cases of abuse of judicial process, the improper use of criminal process tends to diminish public confidence in our legal system.

Por lo menos para España me parece mejor. Adjudicativo es probable que se use en LA.

Explanation:
Dice que esa asistencia se concede si existe un proceso judicial pendiente o inminente. No habla de un procedimiento específico, sino de un "procedimiento" pendiente o inminente.
Se trata de un proceso en su sentido genérico, como en esta definición genérica de Wikipedia:

Adjudication is the legal process by which an arbiter or judge reviews evidence and argumentation including legal reasoning set forth by opposing parties or litigants to come to a decision which determines rights and obligations between the parties involved. Three types of disputes are resolved through adjudication: disputes between private parties, such as individuals or corporations; disputes between private parties and public officials; and disputes between public officials or public bodies.
