Some kind of test chamber with echo-damping. I'd rather not say "anechoic chamber" as this is for a general readership.

This has a few options, but I have heard "anechoic chamber" countless times and it gives 323,000 hits on Google!
I had never thought about the positioning of hard terms before. I'll see if the theory holds for me...
