Japanese term or phrase: 点検車両を削減
The entire sentence is
点検については、車検期日の10日前までの車検実施および点検車両を削減するためにオリックスコールセンターより整備工場へ日程調整の依頼をしています。

10 days before the inspection date, they want to complete the inspections and reduce what?

Any help is appreciated.

reduce the (number of) vehicles being inspected
Explanation:
The sentence ends in 整備工場へ日程調整の依頼をしています, so I guess they're trying to avoid a sudden rush in the number of cars requiring inspections to be 'urgently' completed by the due date (where 'urgent' would mean within the last 10 days prior to expiration of registration) by 'regulating' or adjusting the schedule for these inspections by contacting the workshop (整備工場) 10 days prior to the due date.
That way, they can attempt to keep the workload as even as possible and prevent last-minute additions.

sorry - that wasn't very clear. I don't mean the call canter contacts the workshop 10 days prior to the due date, but contacts them to schedule the work so that is (ideally) completed _before_ the last 10 days of existing valid registration...

agree  Mika Jarmusz: As Kathy said, I too think that the purpose of 削減 is to "avoid a sudden rush".

agree  Minoru Kuwahara: The source Japanese looks a bit awkward in style. The points of requirement are: "車検期日の10日前までの車検実施" and "点検車両を削減するためにオリックスコールセンターより整備工場へ日程調整の依頼". Why vehicles should be reduced is possibly to avoid jamming situation. -
