neutral  Marie Christine Cramay: Vu l'époque indiquée et l'origine corse du mot, "travailleur" (dans le sens d'ouvrier) convient tout à fait si l'acte est rédigé dans les termes d'alors. Pour une adaptation actuelle, opter pour "ouvrier" (connotation moins politique).

Explanation:
selon le dictionnaire d'éthymologie de la langue italienne en ligne, le verbe "travagliare" signifie travailler durement. L'un des dérivés, "travagliatore" était employé dans le sens d'un labeur dur. Je pense que la meilleure traduction ici est celle d'ouvrier car il n'y a pas d'autre spécification quant au travail fourni, et que le métier d'ouvrier était considéré comme l'un des plus durs à l'époque.

Mais "travailleur" n'est pas un métier... C'est plutôt un adjectif qualificatif.
