English term or phrase: castings high in time-release nitrogen
Well I can not understand what`s the meaning of this phrase. The whole phrase says: "earthworms aerate the soil creating good drainage for water, and they expel castings high in time-release nitrogen"

rastros con altos contenidos de nitrógeno de liberación lenta
Explanation:
slightly strange use of the word "castings", it is usually "casts" or "wormcasts", basically worm defecation. They eat then leave a mulch behind them which slowly releases nitrogen back into the soil.

The Oxford dictionary translates "cast (left by worm)" as "rastro"

Muchas gracias, en esta ocasión no sabía como poder traducir esta frase. Lo que sí el término rastro no lo ocuparía, lleva a un poco a confusión y lo encuentro muy rebuscado. Además "casting" hace referencia a las heces de las lombrices.
