Contractual and general jurisdictional admissibility Explanation: Just a thought. May be I will find better solution after night sleep. Plus I do not have Blac'ks Law Dic with me to bust my thinking process |

jurisdiction (over) and cognizance (of) Explanation: Вопрос только в том, что чему собственно соответствует :-) ИМХО cognizance все-таки ближе к "подсудности", а jurisdiction - к "подведомственности" -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 9 hrs (2007-02-28 05:47:54 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Matter is (though I may stand corrected) that "podvedomstvennost" in this particular context is not necessarily about "admissibility into the court", it might well include out-of-court settlement, say, through some commercial reconciliation authority. I just tried to choose most generic (and closely related) words for these as closely related concepts... Alex11 is of course right in that it is all amply covered by "jurisdiction" alone, but IMHO adding "cognizance" here would just put the asker on the safe side (for those customers who believe that every word should be translated :-) ) without limiting the "broadest sence" of the phrase or distorting the overall meaning (assuming that I uderstood it correctly :-) ) |

competence and jurisdiction Explanation: in law, the authority of a court to deal with specific matters. Competence refers to the legal “ability” of a court to exert jurisdiction over a person or a “thing” (property) that is the subject of a suit. Jurisdiction, that which a competent court may exert, is the power to hear and determine a suit in court. Jurisdiction also may be defined as an authority conferred upon a court (thus making it competent) to hear and determine cases and causes. Jurisdictional authority is constitutionally determined. http://concise.britannica.com/ebc/article-9025016/competence... http://www.britannica.com/eb/article-9025016/competence-and-... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 days (2007-03-05 20:11:37 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Т.е., компетенция и подсудность. См. также в немецком Мультитране: подведомственность = Kompetenz |
