Centiar Explanation: Laut Meyers Konversationslexikon wurde "Centiar" zumindestens in den Niederlanden anstelle von m² verwendet. Durch das Münzgesetz von 1876 ist auch in den Niederlanden die reine Goldwährung eingeführt. Maß- und Gewichtssystem ist das metrische, wobei das Meter und das Kilogramm als Einheiten gelten. Flächenmaße sind das Quadratmeter oder Centiar, der Aroder das Quadratdekameter, der Hektar. Für Brennholz ist die Einheit das Kubikmeter (Wisse), für Flüssigkeiten (und trockne Waren) das Liter oder Kubikdezimeter.
